The Minnie V was named after John Vetra’s wife Minne. Built in 1906 on Deale Island, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the Minnie V spent 87 years as an oyster dredger. Her centerboard, hard chine and square stern are typical of Chesapeake Bay skipjacks.
